Mon Valley Initiative’s rental portfolio includes over 160 residential units throughout Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. Most rental units are income-restricted, and Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) are welcome at all of MVI’s properties.

Please read the following information carefully before applying — as an affordable housing provider, MVI's application process will require you to provide a number of documents. For this reason, the process can take time, and we cannot provide immediate housing assistance.
A $50 application fee is required to help cover the cost of credit, background, and rental history checks which we use to carefully screen applicants and support safe, stable housing throughout the Mon Valley.
The steps outlined below will help you navigate the application process:
1. Gather required documents: As part of the application process, a number of documents will need to be provided which can be found at the link below. Some of these items may take time to retrieve, so it is recommended to start gathering them as soon as possible.
2. Fill out an application: Applications can be submitted online or by mail. Click the “online application” button below to view current availability and apply online. Printable applications can be sent to our Homestead office at 305 East 8th Ave., Homestead, PA 15120.
3. Pay the application fee: A $50 application fee is required with the submission of your application which can be paid online below or via check or money order made out to Mon Valley Initiative and sent to our Homestead office at 305 East 8th Ave., Homestead, PA 15120.

This can be paid on the secure Zeffy online payment processing system. Applications will only be processed once all required documentation and application fee are received.
